"And Jabez called on the God of
Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and
enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and
that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause
pain!” So God granted him what he requested."

Mission Statement / Goal
Interfaith Specialty Services, Inc., a non-denominational
synergistic consulting service and support group designed to meet
the needs of people with disabilities who desire participation in
communities of faith.
We Believe...
...in the right to make personal
choice in worship for all people, regardless of mental, physical or
sensory limitations
...in taking progressive
accessibility and nurturing steps to encircle the disabled in the
fellowship of PEACE (Physically Enabled And Cognitively Empowered)
...in REC (Religion, Education and
Culture): interacting with places of worship, community,
caretakers, medical, the arts and educational systems to
synergistically coach the desires of the heart of people with
disabilities into realities of life experience
...in God's word that all things
are possible. We strive to abide in the center of His will as our
primary faith based initiative
...in the American dream that all
men are created equal, and that the torch of freedom is lit for and
accessible to all.

- “Mission
Accomplished!"
In my autobiography, “Uphill
Journey”, I have the vision of “A Widow’s Mite”. (AWM).
Bringing it into reality is the community project I have my
focus on. The purpose is to provide assistive helps for people
with physical, mental or sensory disabilities. Medical
insurance does not provide immediately for the poor or those who
cannot articulate their needs appropriately. Often, the
requested device (hearing aid, walker, cane, wheelchair, oxygen
equipment, bed, portable ramps, etc) cannot be obtained because
they don’t qualify for that type of service, or are on a waiting
list. AWM would provide for their immediate needs while waiting
for the “system” to deliver. The project will provide comfort
and aid the physical rehabilitation of the disabled when such a
service will have the greatest impact, it will assist the
family member who is struggling to obtain the assistive helps,
it will be a contact point for social workers trying to locate
items for dismissing patients. It is a collective effort that
will bring communities together to ‘feel good’ that they are
giving needed items to help someone who otherwise would suffer
or be inconvenienced. It is an opportunity to give back
something tangible to someone who needs it and actually know
where it’s directly going—compassionately to aid the well being
of another, a hands-on, pass it on, community project of caring
and sharing, freely given.
